Considered a reference point for many Parisian gourmets, L’Atelier Berger is an elegant French restaurant found in the Les Halles area of Paris. Situated right in the heart of the 1st arrondissement, just down the road from the magnificent Hotel de Ville (town hall), L’Atelier Berger is superbly elegant yet contemporary at the same time. The first floor dining room is decked out in a beige and anise colour scheme and the tables are immaculately set with designer tableware. At the helm of the kitchen is French Norwegian chef Jean Christiansen, formerly of Rostang, who has managed to cleverly bring together classic French recipes with his own brilliant innovative ideas. Try the superb hot artichoke cream with seared foie gras or lobster, penne and parmesan gratin. Desserts such as caramelised bananas and passion fruit or roasted violet figs with raspberry sorbet make for a divine way to finish off the perfect meal.
